Κυρίως δε στις φυλακές του Γκουαντάναμο - όπως και σε αυτές του Άμπου Γκράϊμπ - οι κρατούμενοι έχουν πάψει προ πολλού να είναι άνθρωποι με δικαιώματα. Αυτή είναι η σκοτεινή πλευρά του κατά τα λοιπά πολιτισμένου κόσμου. Έχω την αίσθηση πως ο πρόεδρος Μπους δεν έχει τη νοημοσύνη να αντιληφθεί τι περιλαμβάνει στην πράξη η λέξη “torture” - υποθέτω πως το παπαγαλίζει ακριβώς όπως του το λένε οι μυστικοσύμβουλοι του Λευκού Οίκου και της CIA.

The problem, my friend, is that (if you watch the first news-clip) the president knew exactly what methods will be used, how many times, even “choreographically” represented in every detail. This is the problem, not that he just “nodded OK” to something he didn’t understand (as one might imagine).

Και η Ελλάδα δεν είναι αμέτοχη: Πέρασε κι από τα μέρη μας το “ιπτάμενο Γκουαντάναμο”, προσγειώθηκε και απογειώθηκε ουκ ολίγες φορές. Κι η σκευωρία κατά του Τζαβέντ Ασλάμ και τα βασανιστήρια σε βάρος των Πακιστανών, εδώ έγιναν, στην πατρίδα του Ψωμιάδη, του Άνθιμου, του Πλεύρη!

τα ξέρω, μάλιστα είχα γράψει και σχετικά ποστ, ένα εκ των οποίων επεσήμανε την ενδιαφέρουσα χρονική συγκυρία που που ξεκίνησαν χειρότερα βασανιστήρια στην Ελλάδα, αμέσως μετά την 9-11 (από ερασιτεχνικές παρατηρήσεις ειδήσεων και χρονολογιών).
(ίσως κάνω edit αργότερα στο σχόλιο).
