Bush debate facesPresident Bush face-making (in a presidential debate)

Democracy is certainly NOT defined solely as the existence of temporary outlets for expressing preferences (such as “free elections”) about who will be the next… multi-year-rule temporary dictator. On the contrary…

  • Perhaps the most elementary characteristic of Democracy, the absolute prerequisite for ANY democracy, is freedom from torture; i.e. freedom from threats and abuses against basic Human Rights;

  • The right of ANY person NOT to be tortured is the most FUNDAMENTAL Human Right.

  • In this respect, as Europeans we should send our CONDOLENCES to the American People, for the DEATH OF HUMAN RIGHTS in their country:

  • President Bush recently admitted that he authorised the use of TORTURE (such as the severe torture of “waterboarding”)

Here is a recent ABC news-clip, titled “ABC News Puts Order To Torture Inside The Oval Office”

  • If you think Mr. Bush didn’t approve of torture itself, but only of enhanced interrogation methods, then take a look at this video (about the torture-technique of Near-Drowning, or waterboarding):
